以我们西安铁路职业技术学院为例, 我院主要培养铁路行业内各技术工种的高级人才, 近年来我院除了铁路各相关专业的班级外, 还成立了例如西安地铁、江苏地铁等定向培训班。在近年来各大铁路局的面试及定单班的日常教学中, 学生英语能力已经逐渐受到各用人单位的重视, 英语面试已成为面试的一个重要环节, 也成为高职学生在面试中脱颖而出的法宝。

笔者从以下几个方面解析高职学生英语面试的技巧, 希望对高职学生的面试带来帮助:

1 英语面试前的准备工作

如今高职大学生, 通过英语A、B级, 即高等学校英语应用能力考试 (简称PRETCO, 因考试分为A/B两级) 已经成为毕业不可或缺的条件之一。百分之十的在校学生会报考大学英语考试 (College English Test) 四、六级。由此可以看出, 对于大部分的高职学生, 英语的读写还是有一定的把握, 而对于英语“听说”, 却避之惟恐不及。其实英语面试一般都有固定的模式, 用人单位一般问的都是常规问题, 比如自我介绍、个性、职业规划等。

应答思路:主考官提这一问题的主要目的是考察应聘者对客户需求的了解能力,同时也考察应聘者的现场推销能力及应变能力。在回答这一问题前,应聘者可以设想主考官是自己的客户,向其询问对欲购买的这支铅笔有哪些具体的需求或要求。然后,根据主考官的具体需求,应聘者可介绍该铅笔的主要特征,并着重强调这些特征会给客户带来哪些益处,以及如何满足客户的具体需求等。

一、面试前的心理准备

(一) 树立自信心

需要具有高度进取心的人。各单位都喜欢那些真正想干点事业的人。自觉、积极、努力, 有头脑、有思想、有干劲, 进取心强、有开拓精神的人。

需要具有良好人际适应性的人。良好的人际适应能力是指一个人在组织中与其他成员的协调能力和沟通能力。在现代组织中, 许多项目的完成均要通过各个成员的相互协助, 具有良好人际适应能力的人往往能团结和带动组织中的其他成员进行工作, 并且良好的人际适应能力也有利于组织和外界的联络。

需要具有高度灵活应变能力的人。企事业单位处于不断发展变换的环境中, 经常会遇到许多意想不到的新问题, 这就需要员工具有应变能力, 能灵活地适应各种环境的变化。

能适应本单位工作的人。用人单位在招聘时首先考虑的是具有业务专长, 不但能力上能适应工作需要, 而且要求在个人修养、言谈举止、工作作风、思想道德、个性等方面都能适应单位要求。

三、应聘中巧妙应答

通常, 考官会充分准备, 设计面试问题。提问、演讲、答辩必不可少。要想说服考官, 争取他录用你, 你需要努力迎合他的需要, 确切地说是职位的需要。这就要巧妙、有条理、有概括地做好应答, 适时表现自己是十分必要的。

在应聘现场, 考官招聘面试的题目和形式多种多样, 但大体上可以分为陈述性面试和情境性面试两大类。在陈述性问题中经常提问的有背景性问题和知识性问题。背景性问题通常关系到应试者的个人背景。在面试开始时, 用3-5分钟时间来介绍自己学习、生活方面的一般情况, 展现自己的优势, 简明扼要, 重点突出即可。知识性问题主要是考察应试者对所要从事的工作所必需的一些一般性的和专业性的知识的理解。回答时要清晰、有条理。值得注意的是不能与主考官进行争辩。而情境性问题则比较灵活多样, 要注意观察, 分析对方的意图。目前, 国内许多企事业单位的招聘面试不太规范, 明显的缺陷就是:考官的提问太随意, 想问什么就问什么;同时评价也缺少客观依据, 完全凭个人感觉和印象打分。比如, 某家公司要面试者写出竞争者的弱点, 结果是, 褒奖对方的被开了, 贬低对手的也落选了, 只有一位把门旁扫帚归回原位的应试者入选。还有的公司老总别出心裁, 把自己伪装成倒茶的老头, 结果对老头彬彬有礼的那位获得工作。所以, 如何认清那些考官布置出的稀奇古怪的场面, 需要现场灵活判断一下。有个大学生讲自己的一次面试经过:刚走进考官的办公室, 看见桌旁有一块抹布, 赶紧讨好似地去抹桌子。考官极不耐烦地要她坐好, 她又怀疑前来扫地的清洁工就是领导, 客气地和清洁工攀谈起来, 最后考官说, 如果单位缺勤杂工我们一定要你, 可惜我们要的是管理人员。所以这是一次失败的应聘。

四、向招聘者提问

向招聘者询问, 可以变被动为主动。当面试官在规定时间内完成了一切面试工作后, 他总会礼貌地请你回去等候通知。一般来说, 应聘者总会说声谢谢, 然后故作镇静地走开, 开始焦急地等待回音。事实上多数也就再没有得到回音。如果这时坦然的向考官提问:“你能给我这份工作吗?”“我最晚什么时候能得到回音?”“如果因为种种原因你没有在最后期限通知我, 我可以联系你吗?”这样你的等待至少不会漫漫无期, 而且很有可能会变被动为主动。据说, 有很多人是因为在面试结束时勇敢地问了诸如此类的问题, 最终得到了那份工作。也许是勇敢打动了老板, 也许是这份执着热切让老板不好意思再拒绝, 也许根本就是运气。但至少可以给对方留下一些印象。不过, 向招聘者提问, 可一定要考虑成熟了再问, 不可太冒失。

五、平稳度过试用期

一旦被新单位录取并不意味着万事大吉, 一切都才刚刚开始。许多应聘者一旦被录用, 签订《就业协议》, 应聘者对试用期没有足够的重视, 结果马失前蹄。因为在实习期间, 大多数单位往往不敢赋予新员工更多的责任、更大的权力, 而只是提供相对比较简单、并无多大挑战性的工作。对于刚刚毕业的新人来说, 现实的情况总是与理想存在差距, 遇到这样那样不如意的问题时, 便会轻易产生跳槽的想法, 使得他们对工作的倦怠提前在试用期里表现出来。到了新单位就是新人, 一切要从零开始。试用期既是考验自己的机会, 同时也是展示自我的舞台。试用期时一定要摆正心态。克服浮躁心态, 保持热爱工作的激情。要想顺利度过试用, 谦虚的态度很重要, 放低姿态学习, 把自己定位在一个学习者的角色上, 往往能够成功。

单位在试用期也主要考察求职者的个性和能力。所以, 要充分利用有限的时间, 在试用期要把自己的优点表现出来。但不要刻意表现。要养成在同事面前多虚心请教、少争辩的习惯。

六、求职中禁忌的问题

(一) 切忌功利性太强

有一位美国年轻人从学校毕业后来到美国西部, 他想当一名新闻记者, 但人生地不熟, 一直没有找到合适的工作。于是, 他想起了大作家马克·吐温。年轻人写了一封信给他, 希望能得到他的帮助。马克·吐温接到信后, 给年轻人回了信, 信上说:“如果你能按照我的办法去做, 你肯定能得到一席之地。”马克·吐温还问年轻人, 他希望到哪家报社。年轻人看了十分高兴, 马上回信告诉了马克·吐温。于是, 马克·吐温告诉他:“你可以先到这家报社, 告诉他们我现在不需要薪水, 只是想找到一份工作, 打发我的无聊, 我会在报社好好地干。一般情况下, 报社不会拒绝一个不要薪水的求职人员。你获得工作以后, 就努力去干。把采写的新闻给他们看, 然后发表出来, 你的名字和业绩就会慢慢被别人知道, 如果你很出色, 那么, 社会上就有人会聘用你。然后你可以到主管那, 对他说:‘如果报社能够给我相同的报酬, 那么, 我愿意留在这里。’对于报社来说, 他们不愿放弃一个有经验的熟悉单位业务的工作人员。”年轻人听了, 有些怀疑。但还是照着马克·吐温的办法做了。不出几个月, 他就接到了别的报社的聘任书。而这家报社知道后, 愿意出高出别人很多的薪水挽留他。故事中的年轻人听从劝告选择了一条独特的求职道路, 把求职作为一种提高自己才能、积蓄力量的手段, 变被动为主动。在职位竞争激烈的今天, 这种办法值得一试。

这个故事还给我们一个启示。在求职中, 许多人都想“一步到位”, 但实际情况却很难办到。

(二) 切忌现场了解薪酬

薪酬福利是很敏感的问题, 应届生最好不要在简历中写上薪酬要求, 到公司应聘时, 公司会让他填一个表格, 上面有个人期望的最低薪水。所以应事先了解清楚, 各种职位在不同的单位都是什么市场价位。如果你想去一家公司, 最好在面试前通过有关媒体或亲朋好友了解一下公司情况, 比如公司规模、主营产品、发展前景、雇员构成、薪酬福利等, 因为招聘经理时常会问到其中的问题。最好所要薪酬不要离市场价位相距太远, 也不要在薪酬问题上问个没完。尤其是民营企业, 对于这种大学生更为反感。不要在应聘时和主考官谈论其他单位的薪资和福利。

(三) 切忌不够诚实和“不懂装懂”

几乎所有企业都希望招聘到具有诚实精神、美好品德的大学生。因此, 在接受面试时千万不要说谎。据介绍, 不少毕业生在接受面试时, 由于迫切希望得到眼前的这份工作, 通常很容易犯下“不懂装懂”、“故意隐瞒自己的缺点”或“夸大自身优点”的错误。如一些毕业生可能会在求职简历、描述自己的能力过程中夸夸其谈, 或违背事实地强调自己在某项社会实践活动中处于“主导地位”。

一位计算机专业毕业生, 看他的成绩单, 并不是很好, 但他在面试时告诉考官他在家里如何组装计算机, 计算机出现问题, 他如何解决, 说得十分清楚, 这说明他已将课本知识融会贯通, 为已所用, 他的社会实践课是在家上的, 但这并不影响他社会实践的效果。所以他的应聘是能成功的。

(四) 切忌着装举止不得体

大学生在接受面试时, 谈吐、穿戴的得体和落落大方, 非常有助于给主考官留下美好的印象, 可以大大地提高自己的求职成功率。

七、求职防骗问题

不要轻信路边的招聘信息 (广告) , 而应该通过合法的、正当的、信誉好的信息渠道来掌握和了解招聘信息。路边的招贴广告多是非法中介机构用来骗取求职者钱财的幌子, 其许诺的职位、薪水多是空中楼阁。

不要找那些没有证件的中介公司, 找职介所要找证件齐全的合法单位。

不要轻信对方交纳报名费、交押金等。求职者有权拒绝各种不合理的收费。

不要受高薪诱惑。高薪虽然诱人, 但要了解用人单位和工作性质。不良职业介绍所就是打着高薪的幌子行骗。

要尽可能直接到用人单位求职, 自己深入了解, 避免受骗。

总之, 求职的路对大多数人来讲, 是一条艰辛的路, 常常是没路可走。那么, 就多等等, 多看看, 多选选, 为了生存, 为了生活, 就主动放下架子, 不要太清高自傲。相信, 路就在你的脚下。

一、注意着装、态度谦虚
