主题句是表达段落主题的句子。它用以概括段落大意, 要求段落中的其他各句都与它紧密相连并围绕它来展开。因此, 要想写好段落, 首先要写好主题句。
1、主题句位置
主题句在段落中可以在段首, 也可以在段中或者段尾。主题句所处的位置不一样, 所起的作用也不同。主题句通常放在段落的开端, 开门见山地点出主题, 使作者自始至终地紧扣主题, 也使读者一开始能抓住整个段落的主题思想。主题句也可以放在段中起到承上启下的作用, 或者放在段尾起到概括全段的作用。作文是主观题, 而且阅卷教师的时间很短。因而在高考作文中, 建议考生应尽量采用将主题句子放在段落的开头。
(1) 段首法
段首法指的是将主题句子放在段首, 即段落的第一句。有时段落的第一句要充当引句或者背景介绍, 这时主题句由第二、第三句充当。段首法的优点是开门见山、直接点题。写作者利用此方法较容易控制全段的写作, 达到开宗明义的效果。段首法是一种概括中心思想, 后细述、分述的写作方法, 近似于人们所熟悉的演绎法 (From general to specific) 。
例如在“The Difference Between American English and British English”一文中, 作者就英国英语和美国英语的语音、词汇、句法三个方面用三段作比较, 其中每一段都以段落主题句子开头。读者一读完每段的第一句, 就会知道该段的主要内容, 也就容易抓住重点。
(2) 段中法
段中法常用于比较或对比不同的事物。把主题句子放在段中, 其目的是要引出被强调的一方, 这时候的主题句子实际上起着类似分界线的作用, 把侧重点不同的两方分割开来。如:

(1) 不会概括要点
不会概括要点是学生英语写作中的通病。主要原因是:
A.学生受汉语习惯表达及思维模式的影响, 如在英语写作中仍使用汉语的“意合”模式, 或不熟悉英语的“先归纳后分述”的表达方式, 所以文章松散, 主题不明, 层次不清。
B.学生本身分析要点、归纳要点方面有欠缺, 分不清事物的主次关系, 不会区分整体与部分、主观和客观、现象和本质。因而即使想通过主题句来表达, 主题思想还是没有表达出来, 常把原本应该用作拓展句的句子当成主题句来用。
解决办法:
要学会要点概括, 就应该了解主题句具有高度概括性的特点。学生应该开阔自己的思路, 积极培养自己的逻辑思维能力、分析问题和解决问题的能力。在写作中要善于抓住事物的本质特征, 分清事物的主次关系, 善于透过现象看本质。在英语说明文、议论文的写作中, 学会要点概括尤为重要。高度概括了的主题句可以使整个段落内容完整, 条理清晰。
(2) 结构句型呆板
主题句子通常用陈述句, 但这并不意味着用简单的“主—谓—宾”或是“主—系—表”结构。在学习的习作中, 主题句往往过于简单, 因此达不到体现主题意义的完整性、连贯性和具体性的效果。学生应学会写出含有多种修饰成分的、相互连贯的、富有逻辑力量的句子。
要想写好主题句, 首先要明确主题句的特点, 即它表达的是段落的中心思想, 通常位于句首, 适用于说明文或议论文。同时注意在拟定主题句子时要根据标题, 决定从什么方面或什么视角来解析、讨论这个主题。学会概括要点, 学会使用多样化的句型, 使主题句的结构完整、逻辑严密;多学范文, 留心阅读材料中各种文体, 并有针对性地进行模仿, 了解英语作者是如何提炼主题句、如何拓展主题的。

拓展句又称扩展句, 它是段落主题句的延伸和发展, 起着辅助主题句、推展段落中心的作用, 对主题句的中心思想或者举例说明或者详细解释和论证。拓展句应上承主题句, 下启结尾句, 在全段中应占有较大篇幅。拓展句的写作要领包括:
1、拓展句是用来体现段落的主题思想的, 因此不可以含糊其辞、言之无物, 而要清晰、详实;同时, 拓展句要有较强的说明力, 能清楚地表达思想, 绝不可只考虑篇幅、凑够字数了事。为了清楚地表达中心思想, 拓展句必须条理分明, 脉络清晰, 先说什么, 后说什么, 应有个合理的安排。即上一句要为下一句铺平道路, 下一句是上一句的自然延伸, 一步一步地论证或叙述主题。拓展句的写作应受主题句尤其是主题句中心思想的制约。因此, 不同的主题句子体现不同的制约思想。

教师,不仅要教给学生英语知识,更重要的是教会他们如何学好英语的方法。高一仍是英语入门阶段,高一学生一般都不同程度地存在学习习惯不良的问题,学生往往是死记单词,听完课做完作业便了事,没有学习效率的观念,学习方法单一,加之没有良好的学习习惯,越学越困难,以致最终丧失信心……因此,教师首先要指导学生学会听课、学会做笔记,为培养学生良好的学习习惯打下基础。

初中英语学习内容与生活密切相关,日常用语较多,很多结构死记硬背也有一定效果,思维方式对学生的影响不大。但是高中英语中句型和语言表达受思维影响很大,很多表达不再是用汉语直接翻译成英语。母语的思维方式让学生瞻前顾后,束缚了学生的发展。
3.信心的缺失制约着学生的发展
面对全新的教材、全新的老师、全新的环境,很多学生望而却步,认为高中的英语太复杂了,严重缺乏自信心。
二、对学生在初中与高中英语有效衔接方面提出建议
1.培养兴趣,准备衔接
在学生步入高中初期,教师不要急于将课本的内容“灌”到学生头脑中,而要以学生为主体,通过体验、实践、讨论、合作、探究等方式参与各项听、说、读、写的活动,来培养学生的学习兴趣,让学生发现高中英语的学习是轻松的、愉快的,是自己能胜任的。例如,我在高一新生入学后每周放一部英文影片,并在观影后分组进行“优秀台词大比拼”活动。让学生在享受影片带给他们愉悦的同时,刻意去记住经典台词及演员的语音、语调。
2.广泛阅读,促进衔接
学生在初中阶段阅读量普遍较小,成绩好的学生只是能把课文熟读或背诵。但这些到了高中阶段是远远不够的。大量阅读对学生迅速适应高中英语教学极其重要。应通过泛读不断复习已知词汇,吸收新词,扩大词汇量,提高学生的人文素养,增进跨文化理解和跨文化交际能力,培养学生用英语进行思维和表达的能力。并且在阅读的过程中,能培养学生自主学习的能力。
3.增强自信,有效衔接
教师应该像大朋友一样,走到学生中间去听听他们的心声,了解每个学生的需求,适时鼓励学生大胆尝试,并给予激励性评价。不同的学生给予难易程度不同的问题,并及时给予评价。我一直给学生灌输的思想是:学英语就是“快乐地学习一种语言”,不管成绩的高低,只要你是快乐的,信心满满地讲出这种语言就是好样的。面对初中与高中这种由易到难的衔接,更应该鼓励学生充满自信。
总之,在初中与高中英语的有效衔接中,教师应该以学生为主体,培养并发展学生的学习兴趣,指导学生广泛阅读,培养学生自主学习的能力,鼓励学生树立信心,促进教师和学生的共同成长。

引言:高中英语的教学在课程安排、教学内容、教学方法以及教学手段,相对于初中英语,都有所提高和改变。然而这种改变,使的一些刚入校的学生感到无所适从,常常抱怨,不能适应高中英语的学习,对学习英语失去了兴趣和信心。学生要如何去改变这种情况?作为一名高中英语教师,我在这方面做了一些探索与尝试,现与大家谈谈。
一、培养兴趣,重树学好英语的信心
学习兴趣,是学生探索知识的巨大动力,对学生来说,只有热爱才是最好的老师。高中英语的教学,随着内容的增加、学习要求的提高、困难与挫折的不断出现,如果再加上教师与家长的责骂,不少学生学习英语的兴趣就会下降,对学习英语失去信心,甚至产生厌恶情绪。对于这种情况,教师就必须多下功夫,重树他们学好英语的信心。首先,认真钻研教材,深入了解学生,精心设计教学内容,用有趣生动的课件,挂图去激发学生的积极思维,用形象、富有情趣的语言去拨动学生的心弦;用精彩的教学内容去激发学生的求知欲。其次,课堂上尽量做到多鼓励、少批评。对表现良好的学生要及时给予表扬。对于进步的学生要给予肯定。让学生获得“成功”的快乐。课下多接触学生,使学生对老师产生亲近和信任感。利用一切可能的条件为学生创造良好的英语学习环境。鼓励学生多参加一些英语活动,如参加学校或者社会上举办的英语演讲比赛,英语写作大赛等,以此让学生得到“自我表现”的机会。逐渐地学生的兴趣就提高了。
二、改革教法,满足学生心理要求
为了使学生上课时对所学内容感兴趣、注意力集中,教师应该改变传统教法、创设新的方法,来引导学生,抓着他们的注意力,去完成教学。英语的听、说、读、写训练很容易搞成简单化、模式化和重复化的东西,使学生感到枯燥和厌烦。因此,我们就要改革传统教法,使其富有新的活力,但重要的还是创设新的方法,只有不断改进教法、做到“适、新、趣”,满足学生的心理要求,激发他们的学习热情,才能取得良好的效果。以朗读训练为例,我设计并在教学中采用以下几种形式:1.一般式——学生朗读;2.范读式——教师或学生示范朗读;3.领读式——教师或录音带领,其余跟读;4.拉锯式——把学生分成A、B组,轮流朗读;5.扮演角色式——由教师和学生分别担任课文中的不同角色朗读;6.欣赏式——把课文制成音频或视频,让学生一边欣赏一边学习。这些方法交替使用,就会产生一种新奇感,从而得到心理上的满足。
三、指导学法,帮助学生有效学习
教师指导学生运用正确的学习方法获取知识,对学生的英语学习至关重要,这不仅能增强学生的学习能力,也可以明显提高课堂教学的效率。在英语教学中,学法指导就是“教学生学”的重要体现,就是提高学生语言学习能的重要环节。学生如何才能高效的学习呢?教师就要适当的给予指导和帮助。
1.指导学生养成良好学习习惯。培养学生良好学习习惯可以从以下几方面做起。第一、课前自学,课前自学是学生学好新课,取得高效率学习成果的基础。第二、专心听课,上课要求学生保持注意力集中,积极思维,有意识识记学习的内容。第三、勤记笔记,记笔记的过程就是对信息筛选浓缩的过程。要做好听课笔记,学生的思维一定要跟着老师走,笔记上体现出重、难点、疑点,便于复习。第四、及时复习,要在学后当天进行复习,可先尝试回忆,然后对照笔记,记忆所学内容。
2.指导学生进行知识整理归纳。学生学知识,要掌握牢固,就要对知识进行梳理和归纳,这有利于知识化零为整,形成体系。英语中讲究一种意思多种表达,如在学习问路的话题是,可指导学生自己归纳出问路的几种问法,方便记忆。
3.指导学生收集错误习题。每个学生必须将自己无论是作业还是考试中所做错的题目收集整理,保留错误的答案,用红笔写上正确的答案,并注明理由分析。这样长期坚持下去,平时和临考前翻看,加深印象,引起重视,会大大减少错误率。
总之,高一阶段的英语学习有着承上启下的作用,是为以后英语教学和学习打基础的。所以,教师要善于钻研教材,精心设计,努力创新教法。要保护学生学习英语的积极性,注重培养学生学习英语的兴趣、正确的学习方法及良好的学习习惯,建立融洽的师生关系,帮助他们树立学习英语的自信心,使他们能充分适应高一英语学习,最终顺利地完成初高中英语教学的衔接。
