在写作教学中, 秉持结果教学法 (product approach) 的老师, 将教学聚焦于写作的结果上, 强调写出的文章没有错误并且连贯;而注重过程教学法 (process approach) 则会聚焦在写作的过程上, 认为学生不可能写出完美的文章, 只有通过不断地修改才能接近完美。虽然目前过程教学法比较受欢迎, 但不可否认的是, 传统的结果教学法也能为作文学习带来一定的启发。倘若我们没有错误并且连贯的文章作为写作的目的, 将“完美”或优秀的文章视作规范来模仿, 我们就必须研习范文, 而这一点对于还不能熟练驾驭写作过程的学生来说是不可缺少的。具体的说, 范文的主要作用在于:

1 范文能够充分说明写作体裁的特点

不同的交际目的在作文体裁、篇章结构和语法形式上产生一定的特点。一次写作任务可能涉及到一些常见话题或抽象话题的分析、观点和论述, 也可能涉及到一些数据或过程的描述。我们可以通过谋篇布局、信息的整理和组织将写作意图分解成一个个次目标, 并将这些次目标转换成言语行为。这种将写作意图到言语转换的过程, 是需要宏计划 (macro-planning) 的书面语言的生成过程。了解写作体裁的特点是减轻宏计划工作负担的主要途径, 而要想了解这些特点就必须从研习范文开始。因为通过了解不同体裁的范文, 能够告诉学习者:1) 文章的一般写作内容;2) 如何组织信息或内容;3) 文章的语言特点。对体裁的写作特点不熟悉的学生就必须到范文中了解。

对于中国学生而言, 虽然他们很早就知道文章有记叙文、说明文等的分别, 虽然他们从一开始就学会了按“三段式”来组织全文 (第一段是论点, 第二段是主要内容, 包括论证的证据, 第三段是结论) , 而且有些同学也了解了英文段落写作的“Topic Sentence+Supporting Sentences”的结构模式, 但范文的作用在他们的写作备考中仍然不可忽视。一方面, 汉语的语篇模式和英语的语篇模式并不完全一致。一般而言, 汉语的主题往往不直接点出, 需要先有一个铺垫, 而英语文章的主题往往直截了当。具体的范文远比一些抽象的分类具有更大的操作意义上的指导作用。

利用写作范文去了解写作体裁是可靠的学习方式, 最好还能够在范文的结构和语言方面进行研习, 并弄清楚两个问题:1) 文章结构和语言如何为文章的交际目的服务;2) 有没有别的可能存在的结构和语言上的变化。只有这样, 学生才能最大限度的利用范文的指导作用而不受范文的限制, 才有可能避免全班学生千篇一律的现象, 这也是使用范文抽取模板, 然后使用并抛开模板的最佳途径。

2 范文是了解语篇衔接手段如何使用的最好语境

连贯是篇章的主要特征, 使用各种语篇衔接手段是建立语篇连贯的主要途径, 语篇衔接 (coherence and cohesion) 也是大学英语写作考察的对象。熟悉英语的衔接手段能够大大减轻写作过程中的微计划 (micro-planning) 负担, 能加快语言生成的速度。这一点与具体的语言使用密切相关。如果非常了解并能很好地运用语篇衔接手段, 在获取写作题目后, 就能明确如何分配主题、焦点信息的位置或展开的信息的组织等内容。

外语中的衔接手段是相当丰富的, 如采用“建立局部连贯”的手段, 包括词汇性手段 (词汇重复、同义和上下义) 、替代、省略、共指以及连词等。由于受词汇量的限制和比较保守的学习方法的训练, 大多数学生的写作中一般会使用词汇同义替换和词汇连词两个衔接手段, 尤其是使用连接词使上下文连贯。连词或起连接作用的其他词类如副词和短语, 我们可称之为连接语。多数学生在写作中懂得避免使用不熟悉的词语, 这些学生的作文往往会出现连接语使用不够的现象, 造成文章的逻辑跳跃性很大, 理解比较困难。或者, 教师对连贯有足够的重视, 由于学生对连接语理解的简单化处理, 相当一部分学生主观上虽然想尽量多用连接语, 以加强句子之间的衔接, 但结果是连接语过分堆积, 不仅不能增强任何语义方面的衔接力, 反而往往会增加冗余信息, 甚至造成句子之间语义上的逻辑混乱。这种现象的根本原因还是学生对连接语的语义把握不够, 出现理解误差。而多遍研习范文是对连接词的如何使用, 或者认识到语篇衔接手段如何使用最好的方法。

3 范文能够开阔学生的思路

写什么是写作宏计划需要解决的问题, 也是学生感到非常苦恼的事情。无话可说是很多学生在英语写作中面临的尴尬问题之一。虽然有些教师提供了一些材料给学生, 但真正到了写作实践中, 腹中空空, 是无法提供有效论据并进行顺畅的写作的。显然, 扩大知识面是解决这个问题的主要途径。另外, 还要在平时的学习中, 经常就社会热点问题和常见的抽象话题积极思考, 积极参与相关话题的讨论, 保证随时激活并调用大脑中已有的知识, 养成良好的思维习惯, 进一步为实际写作最好材料的准备。

目前的写作教学比较注重句子和文章的组织框架, 但是, 语篇的表层是为深层的思想内容服务的, 只注重句子结构的写作、段落布局的讲解和词汇语法的积累, 没有观点和思维的训练, 没有足够的话题信息输入, 到头来, 学生还是写不出什么东西来。如果不能把“写什么”纳入到英语写作教学中来, 不能帮助学生养成积极思考的习惯, 不能开阔自己的思路, 必将影响学生英语写作水平的提高。范文是提供写作思路的有效途径之一。大量阅读范文, 并总结信息的整理和呈现方式, 或总结范文的观点和论据, 并感受观点论据展开的方式, 是提高英语写作水平的重要手段。如果课堂上只能学到句子和篇章的组织架构, 那么课后研读范文必将是补充思路不足、观点缺乏的最直接最有效的手段。

二主位推进模式在高职英语范文写作教学中的改革及实施策略

一、学生眼中的作文样式———范文

我们先从教育者的角度,对范文式作文的作文题的变化和作文课的展示结构进行描述。

首先,我们可以看到作文题的形式变化,从时间轴线看:命题作文、材料作文、话题作文、新材料作文,一路走来,不断变换,目的就是为了避免宿构,取得考试结果的高信度和高效度,以利于人才的选拔。

其次,一堂作文课可以分为与作文题型相关的知识讲授和某一具体题目的范文的展示两个部分构成。

一节作文课的展示形式:授课教师,从有效性原则出发,遵循经济化行为准则,往往截取的是作文题型变化时间轴上的某一型,选取相应知识,依据认知心理学中的知识、能力关系建构教学模式。基本理念是:学生获取了老师教授的某一知识,就会获得相应的能力。具体来说,2000年左右,作文考察题型,是由“材料”、“提示语”、“话题”和“注意事项”四大部分组成的话题作文,那么话题作文就必然成为了中学作文教学的主要题型;2006年开始,从课标卷的乌鸦学老鹰抓羊开始,进入了新材料作文的时代。同样,“不要脱离材料内容及含义的范围作文”的新材料作文就必然成为了现在中学生作文教学的主要题型和考察样式。而什么是“材料的内容及含意的范围”就成了相应的必教知识和作文课堂的主角。

那么,学生眼中的作文样式,又是什么样的呢?从对学生实际调查得到的情况可知:作文题,高深莫测、变化多端;作文样式,等于范文,等于词语替换,等于分数。

二、对学生写作行为的描述———模仿、波浪形

在学生的意识里,作文样式,等于范文,作文写作,等于词语替换,等于分数。这是一个一环紧扣一环的链条,开启于范文,终了于分数。无疑,范文占据了核心地位。

在学生进行具体的写作时,他们的行为具有那些特征呢?

先看形成形态。我们从一个班级的作文写作看,可以依据某一次作文形成的时间点,描述学生作文的形成形态———波浪状。

这么一个波浪状成型过程大致是这样的:一部分学生参照老师提供的范文,写成了自己的作文;未按时完成的学生,在老师批改后提供同学范文的基础上,进行参照,完成作文。因此,范文在学生具体写作中贯穿始终,具有参照作用,但范文的具体所指依完成任务的能力不同而形成的学生群体而有变化。从对学生实际调查得到的第二个结果是:不少同学认为,老师讲的没有用,要会写,得看同学怎么写,才知道怎么写。通常,作文课上,老师出了一道作文题,便开始审题、立意、构思、布局、谋篇,一气呵成,展示着作文形成的流程。学生在这个过程中,充当的是看客角色,看得是眼花缭乱。也有学生,觉得疲劳,便渐渐游离课堂,离开了老师的眼界。从师生交往的角度看,有一个双向变单向的趋势,教师讲授很容易就成了“独角戏”。这样的交流状态,不利于学生的自主建构,从学生的角度来说,这一部分呈现的知识是无趣的、无价值的。

而作为一次又一次波浪的浪头,还是范文:注意力强、领悟力强的学生,老师展现的范文就是领着他完成作文的浪头;某些方面欠缺,不能按时完成的学生,老师展现的范文不是他作文的浪头,而是第一波完成的同学作文中被老师认可的,可以作为讲评的作文是这些学生此一波完成作文的浪头,也就是他们的范文。

因此,学生的写作行为,无论是哪一个时间段完成老师要求的作文的学生,写作就是模仿,模仿对象依学生特征而不同,也就是范文对于学生来说所指是不同的。

一、变换形式, 引学生尽情释放

所谓“日记”, 《现代汉语词典》的定义是:“每天所遇到的和所做的事情的记录, 兼记对这些事情的感受。”与以往的“日记”相比, 我对“日记”的定义更为宽泛, 内容可供选择, 或记事, 或议论, 或抒情, 或信笔涂一幅画, 或随笔吟诵几句诗, 或手撷几片秋的落叶拼一个有趣的图案, 或觅来一张泛黄的照片配几句话, 或张开想象的翅膀, 任你放飞理想, 或把心底的秘密悄悄倾吐, 把高兴的笑, 伤心的泪融入日记当中。日记的形式也不受拘限, 主要有生活日记、数学日记和趣味日记。生活日记包括活动、旅游、书信、手工等, 趣味日记包括照片、邮票、画画、剪贴等。

对于新入学的一年级新生, 当然要落实字、词、句的基本功训练, 因为它们是语文素养的基础, 也是作文创新能力的基础。这项训练, 我让它具体落实到每堂课上, 把课堂当作主阵地。例如:在拼音教学时, 我出示一个音节:wū, 学生抄词:乌云、乌鸦、呜呜哭、女巫、污染……造出的句子更是丰富多彩:乌云挡住了太阳;乌鸦的羽毛乌黑发亮;小弟弟摔倒了, 在呜呜直哭;女巫想害死白雪公主;泥沙把我们的江水污染了……逐渐, 学生的说话达到语气连贯, 通顺的要求。有了说话为依托, 学生写起来有把握, 从最初的以拼音代替字、以图代字转为规范的纯文字形式。

二、创设情境, 让想象插上翅膀

低年级是儿童想象活动的“敏感期”。现在有许多心理学家认为, 低年级儿童产生意象 (包括思想、意向、情感、需要) 的主要心理结构是想象, 他们正是借助于想象和幻想来理解他们生活在其中的世界, 研究和解释这个世界。因此, 最佳的习作训练形式是创造型的想象性写话和童话体写话。

教学完《雨点》, 师播放歌曲《小雨沙沙》, 让学生闭上眼, 边听边想象:雨点还会落在哪儿?做些什么?音乐给了学生畅想的空间和表达的灵感, 欣赏之余, 优美的儿童诗便跃然纸上:雨点落在花伞上, 在花伞上跳舞。雨点落在头发上, 在头发上溜冰。雨点落在树洞里, 在树洞里打滚……在日记《中秋节》中, 一个学生在结尾处自编:十五月儿大又圆, 中秋月饼香又甜。另一学生在文中写道:我闻了闻, 香喷喷, 馋得我流口水呢!我趁奶奶不注意, 抬起脚轻轻地走, 往着桌子那边走了过去, 偷偷咬了一口, 味道真好!嘴巴上有层油, 嘴唇上滑溜溜的。又咬了一口, 哇!月饼的馅又香又甜。又如日记《争当环保小卫士》, 学生突发奇想, 有的想发明一种清洁车, 安上许多吸尘器, 把连江的大街吸得一尘不染, 有的把地球彻底美化, 欢迎外星人来做客。日记《假如我在海底生活》:文中的我或是穿上海带编结成的衣服, 又凉爽又光滑;或是乘上海马公共汽车, 既省油又环保;或是听懂各种鱼类的语言, 广交鱼友……续编《狼和小羊》, 故事中的小羊一偏头, 大灰狼扑了个空, 正巧撞上溪旁的大石头, 脑袋开花了;另一故事中的小羊突然躺倒地上, 不停打滚, “哎哟, 疼死我了!我刚才不小心吃了毒草, 怎么办呢?”大灰狼一怔:如果吃了有毒的羊, 我也必死无疑, 还是不吃的好。在指导写《啄木鸟》时, 学生的手臂高举成林, 一只啄木鸟忙碌地飞东又飞西, 当它为树木治病之后, 赞美之词不绝于耳:谢谢你, 啄木鸟神医!谢谢你, 医术高明的啄木鸟!啄木鸟, 你真是森林的卫士!

新世纪最需要的是什么?是创新。创新的土壤是什么?是个性。卢梭说:大自然塑造了我, 然后把模子打碎了。因此, 在引导学生写日记的过程中, 教师应倾听他们的心声, 了解他们的世界, 满足他们的愿望。喜学生所喜, 忧学生所忧, 鼓励学生说实话, 抒真情, 充分放飞思维和心灵。

三、贴近生活, 让源头之水长流

要写好日记, 必须跳出课堂、学校的小圈子, 扩大生活外延, 丰富生活经历。“读好社会、读好自然两部大著作”的口号告诉我们, 要引导学生关注社会, 发现生活中的真、善、美, 将学生的笔触转向对各种社会现象、媒体焦点、新闻事件或热点人物的品评;转向对地球、对环境、对人生、对和平的关注和思考。只有这样引导学生贴近生活, 才能让作文的源头之水长流。如:《我的愿望》, 学生观看了电视且读了《学生周报》中对“神舟六号”的报道, 他们的理想也赋予了时代的意义:成长之后想当一名宇航员, 因为宇航员可以在太空研究;有的说我想当发明家, 因为可以为人类带来方便, 给别人带来快乐, 我自己也是快乐的。一位学生观看了电视剧《神笔马良》之后, 他在日记中写着:如果我有一支珍贵而又奇妙的神笔, 一定会超过马良。神笔可以为盲人画出滴眼露, 让盲人重见光明;可以在宇宙中发现被污染的星球, 用神笔画出优美的环境, 让外星人朋友过上幸福而快乐的生活。学生在习作《夕阳》中写道:夕阳像猴子的红屁股。天边的云像千姿百态的模特。在中秋之夜, 学生观看了喷泉, 又写道:池中的水花突然向上喷射, 我以为是小龙王来了, 吓得趴在地上。对于各种植物的果实, 学生自有独到的眼光, 进行别有情趣的描写:橘子的皮用手一摸, 粗粗的, 像长了许多青春痘;又扁又圆的橘子, 像新鲜的小笼包;炎炎夏日, 新鲜的花生纷纷上市, 像一只只可爱的小老鼠;果园里, 果香四溢, 红通通的苹果挂满枝头, 像一个个红太阳。日记《我的好伙伴》, 选材就令人拍手叫好:有的写同桌, 发辫歪歪地扎在脑后, 像一把精致的小扫帚, 又像吸尘器;有的写好书, 有的写一个群体, 还有写小猪娃等玩具。

四、激励评价, 让童真焕发异彩

法国教育家斯多惠说:“教学艺术的本质不在于传授, 而在于激励、唤醒和鼓舞。”因此, 准确、合理、富有激励性的评价能调动学生写日记的积极性, 给学生以鼓励, 让学生始终带着想表达的愿望, 想述说的热情, 实现作文教学的“以生为本”。

我注意组织形式多样的评价活动, 如小组评议、同桌评议、投影展示、教师点评、父母评议等, 并在评议后再行修改。这样既提高学生写日记的兴趣, 又培养了他们合作探究的精神。每周上一节“美文欣赏课”, 让日记写得好的学生上台朗读诗作, 给他们信心与自豪感, 也让其他学生在聆听中慢慢回味。我还建造了“日记墙”, 班上每一面空白的墙上都贴满了学生的日记。它的作用不仅仅是展示日记, 更是学生自由交流的平台, 学生可以把自己认为写得最精彩, 写得认真或者有进步的日记贴在“日记墙”上去, 供大家展阅、欣赏。这样, 日记教育真正走进了教师和孩子们的心田, 一个张扬个性、充满快乐和智慧的发展空间就这样形成了。

五、贵在坚持, 期待百花齐放

染于苍则苍, 染于黄则黄。儿童文学作家樊庆荣从小学开始, 坚持每天写日记。50多年来, 他把写日记当作自己生活的一部分。他说:“经常写日记, 不仅有助于提高写作水平, 还能锻炼一个人的毅力, 养成爱观察、爱动脑的好习惯。”为了把学生带进日记世界, 让日记成为他们童年的伙伴, 我努力营造了一个日记飘香的环境, 班级里的小小图书角发挥了它最大的功能。“人有三宝精气神, 腹有诗书气有华。”如果说读书是养气, 是纳入, 那么写作则是释放, 是输出。我曾举办一期一年级的“成长的足迹——日记展”, 篇篇佳作童心闪烁, 文采飞扬, 焕发生命的活力。我期盼着学生能自由自在地想, 无拘无束地说, 挥洒自如地写, 写出个性来, 开创“百花齐放”的作文新天地。
