马尔科姆·麦肯姆斯和唐纳德·肖于1972年提出了“议程设置”理论, “议程设置”主要有三种机制, A) “知觉模式”——即对某事件报道与否。B) “显著性模式”——即强调或重复报道某事件。C) “优先顺序模式”——即以报道的顺序不同来区分事件重要与否。

传统的“议程设置”, 是基于“点对多”的单向传播模式下形成的。近年来, 传统媒介不断被新兴媒介冲击, 不再独占对信息的发布权, 因而有人认为“议程设置”的概念也将随着传统媒介的衰退而逐步退出传播领域。这显然是不正确的。

1.2“议程设置”在网络自媒体语境下的存在模式——以微信朋友圈为例

在网络自媒体语境下, 传播变得更加广泛而自由, 每个人都可以成为“议程”主体。微信朋友圈就是一种符合网络自媒体语境下的“议程设置”规则的媒介, 其具备泛“议程”主体、互动性、便携化等特点, 这种模式是基于“点对点, 点对面”的综合性多向传播模式[1]。异质化的个人“议程”, 综合在一起构成了以多元化、公众注意力分散为特征的公众议程, 这似乎没有一个强有力的主体来发挥“议程设置”的作用。而事实上, 信息只是改变了传播的方式和效率, 重要信息的影响力变得更易扩散, 这恰是符合“议程设置”的三个要点的, 因而就形成了一种区别于传统媒体下的全新的议程设置模式——“公众自我议程设置”[2]。

2 微信朋友圈对于“快热APP”的“议程设置”作用分析

2.1 微信朋友圈可成为“公众自我议程设置”媒介的原因

1) 有庞大的用户基础:微信是建立在手机和QQ的熟人强关系链作用下的, 加上其永不下线的功能, 其用户数量大、用户粘性强。微信虽然属于半私密社交, 但是其转发、复制粘贴、直接点击跳转链接的功能仍使其有着较好的公众传播能力。因而一旦有大量转发, 就会形成“议程设置”中“显著性模式”的机制。

2) 有着窄化定向传播和被动“议程设置”:私密属性使传播内容针对性更强, 用户的接受度和认可度更高, 加上微信朋友圈可由用户自由选择查看或屏蔽, 因此对于差异化的用户来说“垃圾信息”相对比重较小。微信朋友圈在一定程度上削弱了“知觉模式”的机制——即任何信息都可以被发出。而其点赞、转发功能是用户追求自身认同的机制, 这使得他们为了追求更多的来自熟人圈的认同感, 因而对新鲜的、重要的、猎奇的信息进行快速的传播。也就形成了独特的“优先顺序模式”机制。

2.2 快热APP成功的共性探究——依靠微信朋友圈的“议程设置”功能

微信朋友圈的“议程设置”功能在对娱乐消遣类信息的传播上起到尤为突出的作用, 捧红了“flappy bird”、“2048”、“疯狂猜图”、“脸萌”、“秘密”、“经典飞机大战”等一系列应用, 由于其“一夜爆红”且“一夜消失”的特征, 我们称之为“快热App”, 其共通之处有以下几点。

1) 社交潜力强:社交性是“快热App”必要属性, 具有强大的社交性, 才能通过微信朋友圈这一平台进行传播。社交性包括比赛性和合作性:微信推出的“经典飞机大战”, 其成功很大程度上归功于其排名功能的设置, 熟人间的比赛有着很大的吸引力, 赢家会在朋友圈分享“战绩”, 吸引更多用户。而“疯狂猜图”的用户则在游戏过程可在朋友圈向好友们求助, 这可让施助者获得成就感并对游戏产生兴趣, 因而得到有效传播。

2) 娱乐属性强:微信朋友圈作为娱乐消遣的重要“议程”发布平台, 对信息的娱乐性有着较高的要求——即需要有趣味性和可玩性:例如“脸萌”, 用户可以搭配出一个既像自己又能遮掩自身缺陷的头像, 作为微信头像或发布在朋友圈, 还有“2048”, 规则简单但可玩性很强, 用户通过在朋友圈分享其更高的挑战成果从而产生进一步的“议程”热点。

1) “知觉模式”的影响:无论是“flappy bird”还是“经典飞机大战”, 其成功是在于简洁, 易被传播。其失败也是因为过于简洁, 功能单一、故事性、奖励机制缺乏。这些“快热APP”在微信朋友圈被过快地炒热, 开发者无法在短时间内通过数据反馈的方式来针对问题进行更新和迭代, 这就造成用户很快就审美疲劳。而微信朋友圈的“议程设置”功能要求其传播内容是言之有物的, 在被分享一次或几次之后因缺乏更多内容而被“议程”主体舍弃。

3.2 微信朋友圈“议程设置”与“快热APP”的互相作用

微信朋友圈的“议程设置”的功能对于其面对瞬息万变的网络环境是一个很大的优势。应加以好好利用。

第一, 可对其他应用进行有效的有偿推广, 在捧红了这么多“快热APP”之后, 微信朋友圈大可以利用其平台优势, 造就更多“快热APP”, 获得直接收益。

第二, 其本身也会因为“议程设置”的内容而增加用户粘度, 由于微信朋友圈本身的用户群和用户粘性, 每个“议程”主体在发现新的信息后会有通过微信朋友圈进行传播的意愿。而因一些“快热APP”造就的竞争心态也会体现在微信朋友圈的发布上, 从而对微信朋友圈的粘度增加起到反向作用。

第三, “快热APP”应在微信的强大“议程设置”功能下进行冷却反思, 在推广自身之前, 更多地是进行效果的预测、过程和反馈的监测, 应预设出多种更新迭代的方案, 以期在“议程设置”发挥强大作用的同时不断快速地创造出新的“议程点”, 使得“议程”的作用不间断, 从而最大化地发挥其作用。

摘要：网络自媒体语境下, 产生于传统大众传播的“议程设置”概念仍然存在, 但其主体和内容都发生了很大的变化, 因而向“公众自我议程设置”“转化, 其对一部分移动应用的传播产生了很大甚至决定性的影响。本文以微信朋友圈为对象, 探析快热APP成功和“昙花一现”的原因——皆因“议程设置”。
