Aging of the Population

Population officials and demographers have much to worry about China’s increasingly aging population. It is estimated that the proportion of people aged 60 or older in China will rise to 11.8 percent in . By the middle of this century, people aged beyond 60 will take up 27.4 percent of the total population — that means one out of every four people will be senior!

The aging population poses a serious challenge to families and the society. On the one hand, with families becoming smaller and living pace escalating, it is even graver for families to care for aged members adequately. On the other hand, aging causes a relative decline in working force. Consequently, the productivity of the whole society will be affected to some extent。

The rapidity of the population’s aging has made it more urgent for the adoption of countermeasures. There is no doubt that the key is to build a solid economic foundation. Meanwhile, importance should be attached to overall social progress by changing the backward situation in social security, welfare and service. What’s more, family care and community-based services should also be encouraged。

This makes us wonder if man is able to share this planet in harmony with other life forms.

One measure would be to forbid the building of cities in areas where wild life is threatened with extinction. But, more imporantly, man must learn to stop polluting the environment, or he himself will become extinct.

不久，车被一位大汉叫停了。此人轻功非凡，连不顾及伞还没收纵身一跃人就到了车上，唯一美中不足的是伞被挡在门外了。此人果真不愧为武林高手，收伞的美姿毫不亚于当年黄飞鸿的，而且有过无不及――收伞时间为黄飞鸿的若干倍。在这美好的日子里，小雨也被微风通过门送进车厢来凑人气。站在门口的人看上去有点不耐烦了，只见高手在伞内一阵乱摸，但令人大失所望。终于有人按耐不住了：喂!你会不会收伞?只要按一下杆上那粒红的的圆东西就行了。高手果然是高手，一点即通，大叹道：摸遍铁伞无觅处，得来全不费工夫。有人唠叨了：自己的.伞都不会收。真是高手不屑于刚才的当众出丑，大怒道：又不是我的伞，我以前用的伞都是缩的，那人终于认识到自己的不自量力马上道歉：好!好!好!不是你的错，是我的错。只见高手春风得意，总算没有丢人现眼，真是士之怒。

少时，一人大呼：什么，28块?你翻两倍，国务院可规定最多只长百分之二十。售票员语重心长地解释道：新年大吉，多收一点嘛!再说了其他乘客都收了那么多，你一个人怎么能例外呢!是啊，新年大吉，我可不想头一天就被人给宰了。要么你把我托回原地，要钱14。售票员又一次无可奈何，这时人们议论纷纷：什么司机趁春运乱收费啦、什么制度又不管用啦可见国人思想觉悟大有提高——都知道保护自己的合法权益了。

不久，又有三人上车——一个红毛，两个蓝毛。此三人仪表不凡，像蹲过大狱的凶鬼子。令人望而生畏。此三人仗着人多事众轻易的挤进了车厢，使司机再一次认识到：车内人数=车厢体积/人均体积的正确性。红毛不太守规矩，在车厢里乱挤。这不一个穿西装的人发话了：司机，挤不进了就不要开门。话还没说完马上又转移了话题：红毛，挤什么!红毛见其出言不逊，马上出口伤人：medeb(骂人的话)，老子就挤你怎么了?接着红毛指了指那两个蓝毛，那两个蓝毛也立即摆出一副要为虎作伥的样子。西装说：是不是想打架了，我也不怕告诉你，我是本地人，要不怎么回来拜年。打就打，谁怕谁!红毛说。由于他们各自都不清楚对方情况，终究只是大吵到闹起来。这时售票员说：你们要打出去打，别到车上打。西装说：要不是新年大吉，以我在家里的脾气还没说完红毛接下来那一句可真是一语破天机：你不像是本地人，怕找不到帮手吧!还家里脾气。沉默的司机终于干出了点实事――打开音响，他们吵不过音响的。艺术果然可以陶冶人的情操，那几个吵架的都昏昏欲睡了。居然沉默了一阵子。

终于在途中有一批乘客要下了，其中一位甚是可疑，此人先是扫视两个货物架，然后把上面一把伞拿到手中看了一眼，又放下。又扫视货物架，又看伞，如此几遍，终于，带着伞走了。在此时，我家一行都找到座位了，爸爸随即把货物挪到他座的位置旁。

终点站终于到了，突然，听到一位刚睡醒的小伙子大声说我的伞不见了!我恍然大悟：这就是为什么货架上空荡荡的原因啊!这就是为什么乘客不愿把货物放到货架上的原因啊!这就是为什么爸爸要随时把货物放在身旁的原因啊!
