In the modern society study English is becoming more important and popular. But when I was young, I didn’t know of this and prefer to play outside rather than learn English. But my mother said :“English is the necessary tools to talk with foreigners, so you should study in an English class. Believe yourself, You can certainly study English well!”Finally I agreed my mom’s opinion and began to study ladder English when I was five.

At the beginning I was happy to study, because it was fun in the English class. We played games, and only studied five words, sentence a time. We also learned to sing a lot of English songs. In this studying environment, I was interested in English for the first time.

When I was in grade two, my mother thought that I should study English formally, so she let me study in the class of teacher Ye of Young Palace of Beijing. In her class I began to learn the New Concept English and touched the grammar for the first time. Teacher Ye let us practice the oral English, listening and writing. Although I should remember much more words than before and had to practice listening and writing every day, and must take the crowded bus to school for two hours every week, I was very happy because I could learn much knowledge that not taught in school.

With my mother and teacher’s encouragement and teaching, I studied very hard and won many prize in the competition. When I was in grade four, I passed PETS 1 with the score of 88 of writing, and 5 of oral English, and I passed PETS 2 in grade five. I was very happy and excited because I had the experience of talking with foreigners, and even used English to help some people when they met the communication problem. I was also very proud when the foreign

针对上述情况, 笔者在本学期大胆尝试了在课前进行5分钟小演讲的活动。通过小演讲活动, 学生的兴趣得到了培养, 信心得到了增强, 技能得到了提升, 英语水平显著提高。具体做法如下:

首先, 我从班中选出英语水平较好的十几名学生, 给他们排好序, 并提前告知演讲时间, 以便于学生做好心理准备, 并保证有充足的时间准备演讲材料。这样做, 学生学习的主动性和积极性明显提高。

其次, 关于演讲内容, 教师不应做太多的限制, 只要是励志、阳光、传递正能量的都可以。

学生可以自由谈论学校小环境中关于同学或教师的趣闻、八卦, 也可以谈论大环境中国家乃至世界正在发生的关于政治、经济、军事、科学等各种话题。这样, 学生就能根据自己的兴趣进行选题, 实施起来就会少很多顾虑, 但必须强调, 选题之后必须用自己的语言组织内容进行演讲。

再次, 关于演讲形式, 学生可以借鉴所学经典句型或借题发挥, 可以随心所欲挑选话题, 但绝不容许背诵短文故事。

按照以上原则, 我组织学生开始实施, 在第一轮活动结束后, 效果竟大大超出了我的预料———刚开始时, 学生表现得十分紧张, 站在讲台上甚至不敢正视自己的同学, 声音也比较低, 体态很不自然, 与同学之间没有互动, 可以看出, 演讲的学生只盼能尽快结束演讲。显然, 一开始, 演讲变成了学生的负担, 变成了干巴巴的背诵材料, 在学生的认知里, 它是一项任务。但随着活动的进一步开展, 在更多的学生尝试后, 慢慢地, 情况开始好转, 后面的学生从前者身上看到不足后, 便不再满足于类似的演讲。有几个思维灵活且较能驾驭语言的学生开始尝试着表达自己的感受, 于是, 演讲所用的语言变得生动起来, 演讲者的表情也越来越丰富, 与同学之间的互动活动也有了, 甚至增加了有意而为之的煽情, 演讲内容开始升华。很显然, 学生的演讲不再是简单地讲述一个小故事, 而是试着从故事中升华出关乎人生的哲学。

在坚持开展演讲活动的过程中, 我一直鼓励学生大胆尝试, 并诚恳地表扬他们在课堂中的优异表现。学生从中受到鼓舞, 深信自己的能力超乎想象, 话题开始广泛起来, 有夸父逐日故事后的热爱人民、为人民呕心沥血的体悟;有守株待兔故事后提炼出来的NO pains, no gains的感悟;有小男孩与苹果树故事后These trees are like our parents.They devote their life to us的领悟;有大谈kindness之后If all of us are kind, our school will be better.If we are all kind, our country will be stronger.If we are all kind, the world will be more peaceful.的激情迸发;还有辩证看待失败与成功关系后的Failure is the mother of success.的顿悟;更令我们感动的是关于尼泊尔地震之后一个同学的即兴演讲:Earthquake is terrible, which can destroy our buildings and can take away our lovers, but human being can’t be defeated.What we should do is to give them a hand when they are in trouble....每一次倾听, 我的内心都能或多或少地被触动。

不知不觉间, 学生已经学会关心他人, 慢慢成长并成熟起来。他们不断尝试着, 开始殷切盼望着能在英语课堂上表达自己的情感, 重视并珍惜自己登台的机会。有时, 会有学生拿着文章主动找我面批辅导, 我便针对句子的语法错误给予相应的指导, 而对于学生的主导观点则不过问, 坚持尊重学生的观点, 不限制学生的思想 (只要不是过于偏激的) , 给予学生畅所欲言的权利。

值得注意的是, 课前五分钟的小演讲活动对于学生的写作技能也有很大的帮助。一方面, 由于演讲话题比较广泛, 学生必定会遇到很多不熟悉的单词, 从而促使其通过各种途径 (如词典、互联网) 去解决, 这无形中极大地扩大了学生的词汇量;另一方面, 面对一些难度较大的高级词汇时, 即使演讲者自身明确其意义, 但当同学们听得一脸茫然时, 他就会试着用简单的英语词汇做进一步的解释, 这又是另一种能力的培养。每一场演讲活动过后, 我都会针对本次演讲的内容做深度的挖掘, 并提出针对性的问题, 如What did he/she talk about?What are their suggestions?What’s your opinion about it?If you were the character, what would you do?等。因为听后要回答问题, 所以学生都听得非常认真, 甚至在听后能做简单的复述, 这对提高学生的英语水平有很大的帮助。一段时间后, 学生不再畏惧, 不再羞于启齿, 且已经习惯了用英语思维、用英语表达和用英语交流的方式, 英语课成了名副其实的语言应用课。

单靠几本教科书,几篇优秀选文,几个问题的设计,几道练习的作答很难提升学生的语文素养。提升学生的口语表达能力,我们是从“课堂三分钟演讲”着手,探索提升有效途径。语文课堂“三分钟演讲”是一种比较主观性的教学活动,如何顺利、有序、高效地开展并非朝夕可就之功,教师要宏观统筹,根据学生成长特点和教学进度,整体规划,由浅入难,由简到繁,分阶段制订计划,进行科学合理的训练,渐进式地培养学生的口语表达能力。

一、对学生进行首轮的适应性“三分钟演讲”训练

1.教师要提前两星期布置“三分钟演讲”的任务,并明确演讲顺序按学号从中间往两头进行。

这样安排便于学生及早准备演讲内容并能掌握自己的出场时间,同时避免了乏味单调。学号的排列大多是先女生后男生,顺序从中间开始往两头,恰能使男女生错开。同时,好中差也基本分散。即使偶有几个水平较差的学生连续演讲,用一位学生的话来说也算是一种调节,让同学们看到了不足,为下一轮精彩的演讲铺垫蓄势。

2.严格控制演讲时间。既然是“三分钟演讲”,那么时间就是三分钟,就要对学生的演讲时间作严格的控制,时间一到,就得停止演讲,而时间没到,就得站在台上直到三分钟结束。这样做的理由是担心用时过多则会影响正常的教学进度,当然最为重要的是可以让学生认真准备讲稿,构思演讲思路,不然就有可能出现敷衍了事的情况。

二、在适应性“三分钟演讲”的基础上推进第二轮的互评式“三分钟演讲”

推进第二轮的互评式“三分钟演讲”,教师可以在首轮适应性的“三分钟演讲”基础上增加以下操作方法:

1.向学校图书馆借阅有关演讲技巧的书籍和杂志,把它放在班级的公共书柜里,供学生阅读和提升。

2.学生上台可带稿,但不可读稿,学生演讲后把演讲稿张贴在教室指定的位置,供其他学生交流,让该学生认识自己的不足,也促使下面的学生认真准备讲稿。同时,让课代表每天及时统计并张贴各小组对当天演讲学生的项目评分,让学生了解哪些项目是高分,哪些项目是低分,与前面的学生有没有差距,从而了解自己的优点和不足。

3.教师全程拍摄演讲视频,然后作为临时文件放置在班级群空间,让演讲的学生下载观看,了解自己演讲过程中的语音和动作,同时也让其他同学下载观看,指出演讲者需要改进的方面。

三、提升演讲质量

教师要趁热打铁,在互评式“三分钟演讲”训练的基础上,进一步提升“三分钟演讲”层次,进行第三轮的展示性“演讲”,教师可以作以下尝试,而且笔者也作了尝试:

1.自由式“三分钟演讲”。教师首先要改变演讲顺序,按学习小组轮流并由组长负责点将。每组每天指定一位组员演讲,一天两组,依次轮换,学习小组组长要组织讨论演讲内容,督审演讲质量,商定具体演讲人选,每人机会均等,可分工协作,也可独立完成;其次要取消演讲时间的强制性,延長时间不能超过5分钟,以免冲击课堂教学,这样便于学生掌握自己的出场时间,拥有更多的主动性,充分发挥自己的聪明才智;最后取消学生的项目评分措施,由视频拍摄取而代之,学生每周末都可以到学校下载空间下载视频文件,同时教师择优选取学生的演讲作品,以供同学们欣赏评价,以示鼓励。

2.主题式“三分钟演讲”比赛。教师事先布置演讲题目,以学习小组为单位,每小组推荐两位选手,也可向别的小组租借选手参加比赛,然后每组推荐一名非选手评委,组成评委团,按比赛规则,评选出若干名优秀选手,演讲过程全程摄像,将优秀选手的演讲视频上传至优酷网,以资鼓励。

3.开设“5+1”讲坛。所谓“5+1”就是5人学习小组共同确定一个主题,共同搜寻资料,然后推荐1位组员上台演讲,演讲时可利用多媒体课件,也可携带相关资料,演讲时间为40分钟,讲坛过程全程摄像,演讲顺序按小组抽签决定,每周由轮到的小组开设讲坛。实验证明,由于前期演讲能力的锻炼,“5+1”讲坛可以非常好地展现学生个性化的演讲能力,例如笔者一学生的《执子之手,与子偕老》(请点击http://v.youku.com/v_show/id_XMjY2Mjc1ODA0.html)讲坛式演讲就是很好的例证。在本轮的提升实施阶段,主要在原有的适应性、互评式“三分钟演讲”的基础上,进一步拓展演讲技巧和阅读视野。活动的评价主要以老师的评价和视频展示为关键,通过鼓励来增强学生的自信心和内驱力,使学生能够以更大的热情投入到以提升语文整体素养为目的的演讲活动中来。

综上,递进式提升学生口语表达能力可以归纳出这样一个递进式步骤:适应性“三分钟演讲”→互评式“三分钟演讲”→展示式“演讲”。笔者也对实验学生进行了纵向分析,分析显示,学生的口语表达能力有了显著进步。当然,“三分钟演讲”必须以规范为基础,而且需要构建合理的评价机制。这样才能扎实有效地从语文课堂“三分钟演讲”开始,递进式提升学生口语表达能力。

自信是成功的第一秘诀,它不仅是对自己能力的信任,更是对自己所追求目标的坚定信念。有了它,才能驶向胜利的彼岸。当敌人日搜夜捕,陈毅“屡不得脱”时,他满怀自信,高唱“血雨腥风应有涯”,“人间开遍**”!陈毅的《梅岭三章》就是撼人心魄的自信之歌、胜利之歌!著名科学家门捷列夫说得好:“只有自信,才能让人在最佳的心理状态下工作,而不致被怀疑吞食你的想象力”。苏格拉底也说:“一个人是否有成就,只要看他是否具有自尊和自信。”总之,自信是指向胜利的导航塔,是前进的不竭动力。

自卑却与自信背道而驰。自卑者往往对别人的优点看得过多、过重,而对自己的长处认识不足,只觉得自己什么都不行,又不想去努力赶上,于是沉重的心理压力使这些人唯唯诺诺,裹足不前。自卑者的心理障碍限制了能力的发展,使他们坐失成功的良机,最终一事无成。而走出自卑阴影,前面必定是艳阳天!无论是《千手观音》还是舞动奇迹中的《追光》,演员们都以强者的信念与命运抗争,战胜了自卑,他们震撼的演出博得了观众热烈的掌声,深受人们的喜爱。可见,战胜自卑,培养自信,是我们必然的选择。

自负者与自信者也格格不入。自负与自卑都是极端心理,自负者在取得一些成绩后沾沾自喜,甚至目空一切,妄自尊大。这些人就算是先前取得一些成就,也只是昙花一现。历史上的教训值得我们记取。楚汉相争时,项羽在推翻暴秦的残酷统治的斗争中起了不可低估的作用,但暂时的军事优势使他盲目自负,自封“霸王”,结果被刘邦打败,昔日不可一视的英雄,落得自刎乌江的下场。三国时的曹孟德折戟沉沙,覆军于赤壁,又是一个自负导致失败的教训。由此可见,正确估价自己的长处和成绩,正视自己的短处和不足,划清自信与自负的界限,对一个成功者来说真的很重要。

怎样看待自信、自卑、自负,其中充满辩证法。我们要相信自己,却不自负;要正视不足,却不自卑。选择自信,战胜自卑,远离自负,这是新世纪的要求,是追求完美人格的要求。

我今天给大家讲一个故事叫:一面镜子

一个年轻人正值人生巅峰时却被查出患了白血病,无边无际的绝望一下子笼罩了他的心,他觉得生活已经没有任何意义了,拒绝接受任何治疗。

一个深秋的午后,他从医院里逃出来,漫无目的地在街上游荡。忽然,一阵略带嘶哑又异常豪迈的乐曲吸引了他。不远处,一位双目失明的老人正把弄着一件磨得发亮的乐器,向着寥落的人流动情地弹奏着。还有一点引人注目的是,盲人的怀中挂着一面镜子!

年轻人好奇地上前,趁盲人一曲弹奏完毕时问道:“对不起,打扰了,请问这镜子是你的吗?”

“是的,我的乐器和镜子是我的两件宝贝!音乐是世界上最美好的东西,我常常靠这个自娱自乐,可以感到生活是多么的美好??”“可这面镜子对你有什么意义呢?”他迫不及待地问。

盲人微微一笑,说:“我希望有一天出现奇迹,并且也相信有朝一日我能用这面镜子看见自己的脸,因此不管到哪儿,不管什么时候我都带着它。”

白血病患者的心一下子被震撼了:一个盲人尚且如此热爱生活,而我??他突然彻悟了,又坦然地回到医院接受治疗,尽管每次化疗他都会感受到死去活来的痛楚,但从那以后他再也没有逃跑过。

他坚强地忍受痛苦的治疗,终于出现了奇迹,他恢复了健康。从此,他也拥有了人生弥足珍贵的两件宝贝:积极乐观的心态和屹立不倒的信念。

想把握好自己的人生和命运的人,一定要有乐观和坚强的品质,因为乐观和坚强是掌管人生航向的舵手,是把握命运之船的动力桨。

今天我讲话的题目是《成功在于坚持》。

首先我想与大家分享一个有趣的故事:这个故事发生在古希腊。开学第一天,大哲学家苏格拉底对学生说:“今天咱们只学一件最简单也是最容易做的事。每人把胳膊尽量往前甩。”说着,苏格拉底示范了一遍,并要求学生们从今天开始,每天做300下,学生们都笑了,这么简单的事,有什么做不到的!可过了一个月,苏格拉底再问学生们,能够坚持下来还有90%。又过了一个月,坚持下来的学生只剩下八成。一年后,苏格拉底再一次问大家,这时,整个教室里,只有一人举起了手。这个学生就是后来成为古希腊另一位大哲学家的柏拉图。

这个小故事所蕴含的深刻含意是显而易见的,的确,我们干什么事,要取得成功,坚持不懈的毅力和持之以恒的精神都是必不可少的。成功之路,贵在坚持。谁能坚持到底,谁应能获得成功,众所周知,贝尔发明了电话,可他所做的仅仅是将电话中一个螺母转动了4.1周,而之前的大量工作是由爱迪生等科学家完成的。双方为此走上了法庭,法庭最终将发明权判给贝尔。原因是爱迪生等科学家虽然做了大量工作,但还是放弃了对电话的研究。可贝尔没有放弃,正是那4.1周,使电话有了实际用途,爱迪生等科学家并非没有那个能力,只是在发明电话时缺少了一份坚持,才会与成功擦身而过,有许多伟大成就都正在于一份坚持。

九十九度加一度水就开了。开水与温水的在于这一度之差。有些事之所以天壤之别,往往也正因为这一度之差。同学们,当困难拌住你成功脚步的时候;当失败挫伤你进取雄心的时候;当负担压得你喘不过气的时候,不要退缩,不要放弃,一定要坚持下去,因为只有坚持不懈,才能走向成功!

也许我们在中学时期就已经读到或者听到许许多多关于大学生活的信息,有人说大学生活绚丽多彩的,有人说大学生活是无聊空洞、浪费青春的。有人说,梦想就像是七彩的泡沫,在高飞的同时幻灭。

我要说,大学,是自由与知识的殿堂,是梦想起程的地方。在这里,有浩瀚的书海,有知识的交融,有思想的碰撞。在这里,你可以乘着梦想高飞!我要说,梦想在种子的心中等待着,承诺一个不能立刻被证实的生命奇迹!

水除非够深,否则很难看出水的蓝;梦想除非深刻到让你相信,否则很难成真。梦,是用一生来追寻的。在前进的途中,你可以徘徊,但不要徘徊得太久;你可以休憩,但不要让它成为你停止不前的理由。在大学里也许我们会气馁,甚至想放弃,但这一切都不重要。因为这一切终究会过去。生命每天都是新的。所以我们要接受现实过好每一天。

我总觉得,生命中总要有梦,总要有样东西,让自己一直去追寻。人生应是不停奔跑而不是止步不前。真正的结束,并不是到达一个有限的目标,而是完成对无限者的追寻。苏格拉底曾说过,做人要知足,做事要知不足,做学问要不知足。学无止境,大学是一个新的起点。今天的我已超过昨天的我,明天的我必将会超过今天!

记得曾经读到过这么一篇文章:10岁时,他的梦想是成为歌手;20岁时,他的梦想是唱响全美;30岁时,他的梦想是成为全能的音乐家;40岁时,他的梦想是成为的音乐大师。他就是西方近代音乐之父昆西,琼斯。是理想,召唤着他,鞭策着他,让他不断努力,不断进取,从一个无名小卒逐步成长起来,最后功成名就,成为大师。由此可见,理想能够召唤行动,让人成功。因此,作为祖国未来的接班人的我们,是不是从现在起就应该树立自己的理想呢?

好的开始是成功的一半,树立了理想,你就已经迈进了成功的第一步。然而,光有理想是不够的,更重要的是要勤奋努力。因为,勤奋铸就成功。

天才是百分之一的灵感,加百分之九十九的汗水。罗马并非一日造成,成功并非一蹴而就。不错,要实现自己的理想,就必须付出自己辛勤的汗水。因为春华秋实,只有努力,才能收获。在学术上,凡古今中外,无一例外。爱因斯坦花了整整七年的时间,建立起了相对论的理论基础,而爱迪生为了寻找做电灯灯丝的材料,通宵达旦地工作,摘录了4万多页资料,试验过1600多种矿物和6000多种植物,最后使电灯发出耀眼的光芒。而伟大的药物学家李时珍更是花了27年时间,才编成100多万字的巨着《本草纲目》。

天上不会掉馅饼,世上没有免费的午餐。因此,我们应该从现在开始,抓紧时间,努力学习,因为,只有这样,我们才能学有所成,为未来打下坚实的基础。
